​This program consists of music both familiar and less so. We are very excited to perform the Piano Trio in C major by Dora Pejačević, a Croatian composer born in Budapest in the late 19th century. Her music shows influences of Dvorak, Rachmaninoff and even Puccini. (There’s an operatic moment when one can so clearly hear a tenor hanging on to a high C!) It’s a lush and lyrical work that we’ve thoroughly enjoyed learning.

Also on the program is Beethoven’s dark and brooding Trio in C minor, Op. 1 no. 3, and the sensuous music of Joaquín Turina in his 2nd Piano Trio.
