NOW, IN OUR FOURTH SEASON, 2017-2018

CONCERTS AT ETHICAL is co-presented by FINE ART MUSIC COMPANY and the PHILADELPHIA ETHICAL SOCIETY. Fine Art Music Company performs this innovative series, designed to involve our audiences in rich, classical music of all kinds, in intimate settings for a more unified and involved musical experience.

CONCERTS AT ETHICAL, is presented in the Ethical Society Building located at 1906 S Rittenhouse Square, in Center City, Philadelphia.

These concerts reflect human motivations that find expression through the sharing of meaningful works by fine composers.

… What inspired composers that still inspires us …  In a unique collaboration with the Ethical Humanist Society of Philadelphia, each concert brings together compelling works of classical music with ideas about related cultural and human influences. After the performance, we often have a short discussion with the audience, followed by a reception to continue the rapport.

Our first season (2014-2015) was inspired with the motto: Life’s conflicts, man’s aspirations… A thematic concert series exploring music born by human experience. Several highly original programs were formed under specific guidelines for incorporatiing various precepts of ethical humanism.

In our second season (2015-2016), we expanded upon these CONCEPT CONCERT ideas to embrace even more music, beloved and less-well known, but always chosen to reflect its endlessly fulfilling qualities. CULTURES & COMPOSERS  led us world-wide in exploration of fabulous combinations of uplifting and absorbing works. We introduced IN RECITAL concerts, hour-long solo, duo and trio musical intimacies.

In our third season (2016-2017), we continue to offer small ensemble work within thematic programs. Plans are in the works for beginning a classical salon at Ivy Hall, to create a more informal and in-depth venue for the intimate sharing of fine music between serious musicians and listeners.

Rollin Wilber (pianist) directs the series along with Katarzyna Marzec-Salwinski (pianist); they perform as well, with other exceptional local musicians joining our ensemble. CONCERTS AT ETHICAL is presented jointly by the Ethical Humanist Society of Philadelphia (Hugh Taft-Morales, leader)  and Fine Art Music Company. We are very excited about its future!
