In our finale for this season of MUSIC AT ETHICAL ~ CONCERTS ON THE SQUARE, we take a first step on a “natural” journey in music-sharing. Composers find a well-spring of musical inspiration in poetry, imagery, and metaphor about human interaction with earth.
The music opens with Pablo Casals’ unique musical tribute for mankind, born of his native Catalan. From the imploring cry of birds, and violins in the evening air, the program then touches on the ocean’s depth, forest stillness, and a river’s lurid nightscape beheld in the deep South. Legend and longing, wonder and desire, are all part of this uplifting release through the power of great music.
